Taylor Legere presenting final project for Introduction to Landscape Architecture Studio at the University of British Columbia (December 2022)
I am a creative and enthusiastic Master of Landscape Architecture Candidate at the University of British Columbia. My primary research and design interests are climate adaptation, disaster resilience, and citizen science.
To further explore the impacts of climate change in British Columbia, I began working with the UBC Disaster Resilience Research Network as a Graduate Research Fellow in January 2023. I also collaborated with the City of Vancouver's Sustainability Department to create visuals to showcase how the city is preparing for climate change. Most recently, I have been working with North Shore Emergency Management to learn how North Shore municipalities and Nations are building resilience in their communities.
In 2020, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Peace & Conflict Studies and Business, with a minor in Fine Arts at the University of Waterloo. After completing my undergraduate degree, I worked as the Manager of the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation, an applied research centre at the University of Waterloo that helps Canadians prepare for climate change and extreme weather risks.
In my free time I enjoy painting, sketching, photography and hiking with my family. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you are interested in collaborating, or learn more about my professional and academic background on LinkedIn.
